Shwe Ywa Ngan hails from the lush hills of Ywar Ngan in Myanmar's Southern Shan State, where tradition, innovation, and sustainability come together. This coffee is the result of a remarkable journey led by U Win Aung Kyaw, known as the ‘Godfather’ of Myanmar’s coffee industry. Since his early roasting days in 1975, U Win Aung Kyaw has dedicated his life to transforming Ywar Ngan into a coffee powerhouse.

In 2001, he distributed 200,000 Red Catuai seedlings to smallholder farmers with the help of international experts and government micro-financing. Today, his vision thrives through the efforts of his daughter, Su Nandar Linn, who manages the farm’s processing facility and contributes her expertise as a Q grader.

The coffee is cultivated by the Danu Hill Tribe on small, pesticide-free plots between one and five acres, shaded by Silver Oak and Macadamia trees. These unique growing conditions—fertile red and yellow soils, ideal elevation, and consistent rainfall—help Shwe Ywa Ngan produce some of Myanmar’s finest Arabica beans.
