We are proud to offer you our perfectly roasted, limited edition Peru coffee beans. Originating from San Ignacio in Northern Peru, The farms are located in the buffer zones of a protected natural area area in the Andes where the native and spectacled Tapirs roam. This means working with an organic methodology and certification is a strategic point because through these standards, a culture of protection of wildlife and species in danger of extension is encouraged and created.
This is a large herbivorous mammal with a short, prehensile nose trunk. Tapirs inhabit jungle and forest regions of South and Central America.
A native or inhabitant of the Andes (the longest continental mountain range in the world).
The beans are honey processed to retain their natural sweetness. Honey process is a method in which coffee cherries are picked and sorted, have their skins and pulps removed like other types of coffee - but are then dried without washing off the sticky sweet outer layer of the fruit. Since honey process beans spend less time in water than washed beans do, less fermentation occurs, so not as much of the sugar in the bean is converted to acid.
This coffee shines when made in a gravity fed method and it allows clarity of flavour. Steeping methods will enhance the tactile characteristics while still allowing the great flavours of this coffee to shine.
Using an espresso machine? The you know how much room to play with. You can manipulate the extraction to give you exactly what you enjoy. This coffee works with and without milk.
