The matriarch of the family who started it all, Muluemebet Emiru, who was the first African woman pilot almost a century ago, in her golden years became a coffee farmer in Harar, courtesy of land donated to her by Emperor Haile-Selassie for her service after World War II. Now, a third-generation, family-owned business run by Aman Adinew formerly the director of quality control for the Ethiopian Coffee Exchange, has an impressive resume. In addition to establishing the first specialty-focused cupping lab in Africa, he is responsible for this fantastic coffee that is a favourite throughout the industry.
